I have had my domain www.adamflaherty.com for about 12 years now. It has changed a LOT over those 12 years. (Just check on the "Way Back Machine". This is super cool. It used to be the home for all of my awful four track recordings, then it proudly displayed all of my gigs when I started getting serious with music, then a band formed and we really stepped up the site, and made it a place where our fans could check back often, see lots of news updates, post on our message board, etc.
Through all of this, though, I have never had a blog. I realized how valuable they are, especially in the field of web marketing, but never had the motivation to start one. Who cares what's going on with me and my projects.
It wasn't until really following the Flyte Blog, hosted by Rich Brooks and flyte New Media, a top web design firm here in Portland [who I am lucky to work with on occasion], that I really began to understand the multiple benefits of keeping an active blog.
Not only is it going to help me get my name out there as an independent contractor, but it will be a huge help to my clients as well. Production Hub has been hugely helpful in generating contract work, and I know that this tool will help get my name and website out there even more.
So with all that said, I begin my new blog here. If you're interested, keep an eye out for new posts... I will be on this thing often updating the world about my video and web projects... There's some good stuff happening right now. Stay tuned!
